The Youth Employment Service (YES) invites applications for the 2025 SMME Development Programme, an initiative designed to empower young South African entrepreneurs by providing the tools, mentorship, and resources needed to grow sustainable businesses.
The YES SMME Development Programme is part of South Africa’s national strategy to tackle youth unemployment and promote inclusive economic growth. Through this initiative, YES partners with corporates and business development experts to support youth-owned Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (SMMEs) with access to funding, digital tools, and strategic mentorship that drive job creation and business resilience.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the YES SMME Development Programme 2025, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens aged 18–35 years.
- Own or co-own a registered SMME (CIPC registration required).
- Operate a business that has been active for at least 6 months.
- Demonstrate a commitment to creating jobs and scaling operations.
- Have access to the internet and digital tools for training and mentorship sessions.
- Priority will be given to youth-led enterprises in disadvantaged or rural communities.
Application Process and Documents Required
Interested applicants must complete the online application form via the official YES website (www.yes4youth.co.za). The following documents are typically required:
- Certified copy of South African ID.
- Company registration certificate (CIPC).
- Tax clearance or compliance certificate.
- Business profile or pitch deck summarizing operations and objectives.
- Proof of business bank account.
