DAAD Hilde Domin Scholarship Programme 2026/2027 for At-Risk Students and Researchers (Fully Funded)

Deadline: April 25th, 2026

The DAAD Hilde Domin Scholarship Programme 2026/2027 is a fully funded initiative designed to support at-risk students and researchers facing threats to their academic freedom, personal safety, or the ability to study in their home countries.

Named after the German poet Hilde Domin, the program offers a safe academic environment in Germany where scholars can pursue higher education or research without fear of persecution. It provides an opportunity to pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or doctoral degree, or conduct research at a state-recognised German institution.

The program is administered by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and partners with nominated organisations worldwide to identify vulnerable academic talents.

Benefits

Selected scholars receive a fully funded support package, including:

  • Full tuition coverage at the host German university
  • Monthly scholarship stipend to cover living costs
  • Health, accident, and personal liability insurance
  • Travel allowance for international flights to Germany
  • Study and research grants, where applicable
  • German language training before and during the program
  • Access to a safe, supportive academic environment
  • Inclusion in DAAD’s global network of scholars

This comprehensive package ensures scholars can rebuild their academic careers in an environment of freedom and safety.
