The Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award 2024 is a global competition that aims to support and empower female entrepreneurs who are making a difference in the fields of health and nutrition. The award is open to 10 female-led businesses from Africa or Latin America that are addressing one or more of the following challenges:
- Improving access to health services and products for underserved populations
- Enhancing food security and nutrition for vulnerable groups
- Promoting sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change
The award is organized by the Bayer Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the Bayer Group, a leading global company in the fields of health care and agriculture.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award 2024, you must:
- Be a female founder or co-founder of a registered business in Africa or Latin America
- Have a social or environmental impact business that is aligned with the award’s challenges and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Have a proven business model that is scalable and profitable
- Have a minimum annual revenue of €30,000 or equivalent
- Have a minimum of two full-time employees
- Be fluent in English, as the award process will be conducted in English
Application Procedure
To apply for the Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award 2024, you need to:
- Fill out the online application form on the Bayer Foundation website
- Upload your pitch deck, business plan, financial statements and other relevant documents
- Provide a video pitch of maximum 3 minutes explaining your business and its impact
- Submit your application before the deadline of March 27, 2024
The selection of the winners will be based on the quality of their application, their business potential, their social or environmental impact, their innovation and their leadership. The results will be announced by September 30, 2024.
