The World Bank Group (WBG) Africa Fellowship Program for 2025 is now open for applications. This prestigious fellowship targets Ph.D. candidates and recent Ph.D. graduates from Sub-Saharan Africa. The program aims to build the capacity of the next generation of African change makers in development research and policymaking, with a focus on poverty reduction in the region. Women are especially encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be Ph.D. candidates or recent graduates (within three years of Ph.D. completion) from Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Have an excellent command of Englis—–h (both written and verbal).
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Be 32 years old or younger by January 2025.
