The Afreximbank Flagship Accelerator Program is now open for applications from young African entrepreneurs across the continent. Launched by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), this prestigious initiative aims to nurture the next generation of African business leaders by equipping them with critical business knowledge, mentorship, and funding access.

Designed for early-stage startups and scalable ventures, the Afreximbank Flagship Accelerator Program supports innovative African entrepreneurs working in sectors that drive intra-African trade and industrialization, including technology, manufacturing, agribusiness, renewable energy, health, and creative industries.


Benefits

Participants will benefit from a three-month experience with a combination of virtual learning, specialised modules, practical workshops, personalised mentorship, and strategic business support. In addition to the online program, entrepreneurs will attend three in-person sessions hosted at regional hubs, including its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt—providing invaluable opportunities for one-on-one interactions, networking, and collaboration.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Afreximbank Accelerator, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African Union member state
  • Be between 18–35 years old
  • Own or lead a registered, early-stage business or startup
  • Demonstrate a business solution aligned with Afreximbank’s mandate (trade, industrialization, or development-focused)
  • Show a commitment to scaling across African markets

Women entrepreneurs and ventures driving social impact and innovation are strongly encouraged to apply.

  2. Initial Review: Our team evaluates applications based on innovation, market potential, and alignment with focus areas
  3. Interview Round: Selected startups will be invited for virtual interviews with our selection committee and partner
  4. Final Selection: Top startups receive offers to join the cohort and complete onboarding
  5. Demo Day: Cohort companies showcase their solutions to investors and partners at IATF 2025
