The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD proudly announces the Go Gal! Innovation Initiative 2025, designed to empower young African women in science, technology, engineering, and innovation. The program is a response to the growing call to close the gender gap in innovation and STEM across the continent. Through this initiative, talented female innovators between the ages of 18 and 35 are equipped with resources, mentorship, and visibility to scale their tech-based solutions for Africa’s development challenges.
This year’s edition of Go Gal! Innovation Initiative focuses on innovations addressing healthcare, climate resilience, digital inclusion, and education, aligning with the AU’s Agenda 2063 and SDG goals.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be female innovators aged 18–35
- Be a citizen of an African Union member state
- Lead or co-lead an innovation or enterprise solving a pressing local issue
- Have a working prototype or MVP (minimum viable product)
- Demonstrate potential for scalability and sustainability
