The Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards offer a fully funded opportunity for talented Nigerian students to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate studies in top institutions worldwide. The Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship Awards is designed to enhance academic excellence and strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and its partner countries. This program provides Nigerian students with the opportunity to study in leading universities across countries like Russia, China, Hungary, Morocco, and more. Students can apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a variety of disciplines, contributing to Nigeria’s knowledge base and development.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nigerian Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of Nigeria.
  • Academic Excellence: Minimum of 5 distinctions (A and B grades) in WASSCE/NECO, including core subjects.
  • Age Requirements:
    • Undergraduate applicants: 17–20 years old.
    • Postgraduate applicants: Must not exceed 35 years old.
  • Health: Must be medically fit and provide a certificate of fitness.

Application Process and Documents Required

Since the BEA countries are non-English speaking, applicants should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign Language course of the Country of choice which will be the standard medium of instruction; 

(ii) All applicants for Hungarian Scholarship can apply for up to two fields of study in order of preference, and must visit the website: www.stipendiumhungaricum.hu which was opened Middle November to close 15th January, 2025. Complete the application form online; 

(iii) All applicants for Russia should visit the website http://education-in-russia.com which is opened. 

(iv) All applicants for Russian Postgraduate Scholarship must have acquired their 1st Degree in Russia. 

(v) All documents to be uploaded on the Russian Application portal and must be properly scanned in PDF format; 

(vi) All prospective candidates for Russian MUST have an international passport and original WAEC certificate before applying and for those with 2024 WAEC you are advised to download a digital copy of your WAEC certificate from WAEC portal and upload to the Russian portal. 

(vii) All Applicants to upload the following certificates online. 

a. UNDERGRADUATE (UG): WAEC/WASSCE & NIN Slip 

b. POSTGRADUATE (PG): 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip 

& NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate. 

NB: Candidates nominated by the Board will be required to submit to Federal Scholarship Board the following: 

  1. Authenticated copies of academic certificates; 
  2. Data page of the current International passport; 
  3. Specified Medical Reports from Government hospitals; 
  4. Birth Certificate & Indigene letter 

v) Police Clearance Certificate where necessary.
