The Financial Times/World Bank Group Africa Sustainable Futures Awards 2025 is now open for applications! This prestigious initiative celebrates innovative African changemakers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and youth who are shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future for Africa.

Jointly launched by the World Bank Group and the Financial Times, the award spotlights groundbreaking solutions that tackle pressing development challenges—particularly those related to climate action, sustainability, digital innovation, and youth empowerment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be citizens or residents of an African country
  • Be individuals, entrepreneurs, youth leaders, educators, or organizations working on sustainable development
  • Have a project, business, or idea that addresses Africa’s sustainable future, especially in climate, digital innovation, agriculture, health, education, or youth empowerment
  • Demonstrate impact and scalability of their work

Application Process and Documents Required

To apply, candidates should:

  1. Submit an online application on the official portal
  2. Provide a detailed description of their initiative
  3. Include supporting documents such as:
    • Project overview (max 1,000 words)
    • Media (images/videos) if applicable
    • Letters of reference or proof of impact
