The Global Peace Photography Award 2025 is now accepting submissions from professional and amateur photographers around the world. This prestigious international competition celebrates powerful visual storytelling that highlights humanity’s desire for peace. If you are passionate about using your camera to promote tolerance, empathy, and unity, this is your chance to showcase your work on a global platform and win up to €10,000 in prize money.

Organized by the Association for the Advancement of Peace in collaboration with the Austrian Parliament, the Global Peace Photography Award honors photographers who best capture the “spirit of peace” in their imagery—whether that’s in the form of human connections, social movements, conflict resolution, or quiet moments of harmony.

  • There will be a total of € 11,000 in cash prizes to be won in all 6 categories!

The Peace Image of the Year will be honoured with a cash price of € 7,000.
It will be exhibited in the Austrian Parliament for one year and included in the permanent art collection of the Austrian Parliament.

3 winners in the Stories category will each receive €1,000
1 winner in the single picture category receives €1,000
Childen’s Peace Image of the Year receives €1,000

All winning works will be awarded the Alfred Fried Peace Medal and the photographers will be invited to the award ceremony in Vienna in September 2025, with travel expenses and accommodation covered. All submitted images have the chance to take part in international exhibitions.

Eligibility Criteria

The award is open to:

  • Photographers of all nationalities, ages, and backgrounds
  • Both professionals and amateurs are encouraged to apply
  • Submissions must reflect themes of peace, such as reconciliation, tolerance, human dignity, sustainability, or conflict resolution

There is no entry fee, making it accessible to creatives from all walks of life.
