In-Country YouthADAPT Challenge 2025 for Youth-led MSMEs and Innovators in Africa ($30,000 Funding + Mentorship)

The In-Country YouthADAPT Challenge 2025 is now open for applications from youth-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and climate innovators across Africa. This initiative is a flagship program of the African Development Bank (AfDB), in partnership with the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and the African Union Commission (AUC), under the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP).

The challenge aims to support African youth entrepreneurs developing innovative climate change adaptation solutions in key sectors such as agriculture, water, energy, and disaster risk management. Winners will receive financial grants, business development services, and customized mentorship to scale their solutions for climate resilience.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirement
Entrepreneurs must be between 18-35 years old at the time of application.

Business Registration
Your business must be legally registered to operate in an African country.

Revenue Generation
Business must have generated revenues over a minimum two-year period.

Business Plan
Must have a SMART business plan for your climate adaptation solution.

Impact Focus
Business must demonstrate direct impact in food security or infrastructure.


Application Process and Documents Required
  1. Visit the official application portal via the AfDB or AAAP website
  2. Complete the online application form
  3. Submit the following supporting documents:
    • Certificate of business registration
    • Business profile or pitch deck
    • CVs of founders/team members
    • Financial statements or projections
    • Climate adaptation impact summary
