IAAC gives you the unique opportunity to show your knowledge and astronomy skills in one of the biggest astronomy competitions for students from all around the world. The Qualification Round 2022 of the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition has opened for submissions! Use your skills and astronomy knowledge to win certificates, awards, and prizes.
The International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition has the aim to be accessible to all students from all countries regardless of their background, school, or institution. For that, the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition uses today’s technologies and the global connection through the internet to make this competition possible: All you need is a pen, paper, and an internet connection to participate!

Selection Process
The IAAC 2022 takes place in three rounds:
- Qualification Round: The qualification round 2022 consists of five astronomy problems and you can submit your solutions online until 13. May 2022. All participants receive certificates.
- Pre-Final Round: Successful participants can register for the pre-final round: You have four days to solve the eight challenging problems of the pre-final round.
- Final Round: Successful finalists can participate in the final round: You will take a supervised exam of 20 minutes. The winners receive certificates and cash prizes worth over 700 USD.
