The IOC Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Young Reporters Programme is an exceptional fully funded initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of sports journalists. Organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the programme invites aspiring reporters from across the globe to gain hands-on experience covering one of the world’s most dynamic sporting events—the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.

This programme is designed for early-career media professionals and journalism students who are passionate about sports storytelling and wish to develop their reporting, photography, broadcasting, and digital media skills. Selected participants will undergo intensive training and mentorship from some of the world’s top sports media experts.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a young aspiring journalist or media professional (typically aged 20–25).
  • Demonstrate interest and/or experience in sports reporting.
  • Be proficient in English or French (knowledge of both is an advantage).
  • Show creativity, curiosity, and a strong passion for storytelling.
  • Be able to commit fully to the programme’s training schedule and on-site reporting duties.

  • Copy of Passport
  • Certificate of Enrollment (Only Applicable to Student)
  • Two Reference letters with contact details of the reference (professional references only)
  • Portfolio
  • Proof of Published Work (Only if Applicable0
  • Photo of Applicant (The photo should be of the applicant only, not with a group)
