The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan has launched the METI Government of Japan Internship Program 2025, inviting AI and tech talent from around the world to gain professional experience in Japanese companies. This fully funded internship opportunity in Japan is aimed at fostering international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and promoting the global business environment within Japan.
This METI Government of Japan Internship initiative is ideal for young professionals and students in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Software Development, Robotics, IoT, Machine Learning, and Data Science who are eager to contribute their skills while gaining cross-cultural experience in one of the world’s most innovative economies.

Eligibility Criteria
- The Internship is open to the Citizens of the DAC List of ODA Recipients.
- Applicants must reside outside of Japan.
- Must be either a current student (expecting graduation from a higher education institution) or a recent graduate (within the last three years).
- Must possess English language communication skills.
- Japanese language proficiency should be below the JLPT N5 level.
- Applicants must be available to fully participate in all internship and training activities.
- Must satisfy any additional criteria set forth by the host company.
