Eligibility Criteria
- Student status: Entrants must be enrolled as students at an accredited high-school, college or university (age and enrolment window apply). Most recent rules require applicants to be at least 18 years old by a specified date and enrolled during the competition period.
- Team composition: Teams are typically limited in size (for example, up to four students per team) and must present original, student-led work.
- Export/region rules: Participants from countries restricted by export regulations may be ineligible; check official rules for country-level exclusions.
Application process and documents required
- Register on the Imagine Cup portal and create your team entry.
- Build and submit an MVP (demo link, repo or runnable build), a short pitch deck, and a one-minute demo/video showcasing the product and impact.
- Complete short-answer application fields describing problem, solution, business model and traction.
- Progress through rounds: regional selection → semifinals → global final (each round may require refined deliverables, pitch decks, and live pitching). Expect requests for additional technical notes or team bios during selection.
