SheVentures pitch competition 2022 for women in tech

In Commemoration of International Women’s Day 2022, SheVentures, a unique proposition in support of the Nigerian woman in business, is organizing a pitch competition for women in tech. Themed SheVentures Tech Pitch, the event seeks to recognize and reward women in the tech industry who are breaking biases.

Eligibility Criteria

The event is open to women in tech who are building digital solutions in the Ideas to MVP stage across the Health care, Education, Food Security, Agriculture, Finance, etc. verticals.

Prizes

Three winners will be selected and share the two million naira prize:

  1. N1,000,000 goes to the winner,
  2. the 1st runner up gets N650,000
  3. Similarly, 2nd Runner up will get N350,000
  4. Access to FCMB Women in Business Zero interest loan capped at N5 million per obligor.
  5. In addition, access to SheVentures women in Business network and resources

TITLE: CNIO Undergraduate Summer Training Program

The Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) announces up to 4 vacancies for undergraduate students to work in a lab at the CNIO over the summer.

The training program will consist of 300 working hours. The intensive nature of the program requires

a full-time commitment (37.5 hours per week) from the participant. Moreover, students must participate in all scheduled activities.

What will happen during the Program?

Each student will be working under the supervision of a group/section/unit leader or a member of the research group. Participants will also attend a series of weekly seminars given by faculty members and researchers from the CNIO. Students will be required to present the results of their research in a special session to be held at the end of the program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • open to undergraduate students of any nationality
  • have passed at least 2/3 of the total credit points (courses or exams) required for a Life Sciences or Biomedicine-related undergraduate degree
  • Also, you must have an excellent academic record with a GPA above 0.75 (with your GPA as the numerator and the highest possible GPA as the denominator).
  • Has good knowledge of English.
  • Moreover, available from June 27 to August 19 (8 weeks) to attend the training program.

Benefits

  • The CNIO will cover the student’s travel expenses: one return ticket from the student’s hometown to Madrid.
  • The CNIO will subsidize breakfasts and lunches at the center’s cafeteria.
  • Also, students will be covered by personal accident insurance throughout their stay at the CNIO.
  • However, citizens from countries not issuing the EHC will receive private health insurance and repatriation insurance
  • Moreover, upon completion of the training program, the CNIO will issue a certificate indicating his/her area of training.

Evaluation and Selection Criteria

Selection of the candidates is on a competitive basis taking into consideration the student’s academic records and motivation letter.

In case of equal merits, students in their final year of studies will be given preference.
