TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program 2026 (Fully Funded for Undergraduate, Graduate & PhD Studies in Taiwan)

The TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program 2026 offers fully funded opportunities for international students to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degrees at partner universities in Taiwan. Managed by the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF), the scholarship aims to empower global talent, strengthen international partnerships, and support sustainable development through quality education.

Scholars gain access to globally recognized Taiwanese universities offering programs in fields such as public health, engineering, agriculture, sustainable development, ICT, business, and more. The program is ideal for students eager to receive high-quality training while experiencing Taiwan’s innovation-driven academic environment.


Benefits

Entitlements: The total scholarship, including airfare (roundtrip), housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs and a monthly allowance will be provided by the TaiwanICDF to each student within his/her given award period. The scholarship is itemized as follows:

  • Airfare: The TaiwanICDF shall arrange your most-direct flights to and from Taiwan with Economy Class tickets. Every airline has its own carry-on and check-in luggage policy, including for weight limits and transporting pets. Applicants have been advised to check with the airlines for details
    before departure.
  • Housing: All students must reside in the student dormitories.
  • Tuition fee: The TaiwanICDF will cover the tuition fee as required by the student’s university.
  • Credit fees: Credit fees vary with the number of credits registered. Credit fees will also be covered as required by the student’s university.
  • Insurance: While in Taiwan, in addition to the mandatory student safety insurance set by the Ministry of Education, each student must be insured for accidental and necessary medical coverage. Insurance fees will be covered for the entire duration of the program.
  • Book costs: Purchasing textbooks as required by the instructors shall be subject to the approval of the director of the student’s institute

    Allowance:
  • Bachelor’s Program: Each student shall receive NT$15,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account.
  • Master’s Program: Each student shall receive NT$18,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited
    monthly into the student’s local bank account.
  • Ph. D. Program: Each student shall receive NT$20,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must generally meet these requirements:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible country supported by TaiwanICDF
  • Meet the academic qualifications for the intended program (high school diploma for undergraduate, bachelor’s for master’s, master’s for PhD)
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership potential
  • Be able to meet visa and health requirements for study in Taiwan
  • Not be a current or former recipient of a TaiwanICDF Scholarship
  • Must apply to only one program among the participating universities

Governments and partner institutions may also set additional criteria.

  • Step 5- TaiwanICDF Announcement: The TaiwanICDF informs the list of scholarship recipients, in principle, no later than June 10,2026
