The Tarbell Fellowship Program 2026 is a prestigious year-long development opportunity designed for early-career journalists who want to specialise in reporting on artificial intelligence and its impact on society. The fellowship combines hands-on newsroom experience, professional training, and global networking to equip emerging reporters with the skills, insight, and confidence to cover one of the most important stories of the decade.
Participants spend 12 months immersed in AI-focused journalism, including a nine-month newsroom placement, a structured 10-week remote training curriculum, and an intensive in-person summit in the San Francisco Bay Area. The programme welcomes applicants from all countries and provides financial support to allow full participation.

Eligibility Criteria
