The Afreximbank Research Sabbatical Programme invites individuals from academic or research institutions to undertake relevant research that contributes to the Bank’s intellectual leadership. This isn’t just a sabbatical; it’s a chance to shape Africa’s future.
- Duration: The programme runs for one calendar year (non-renewable basis).
- Commencement: Expected to start in the academic year beginning September 2025.

Eligibility Criteria
- Position: Open primarily to senior lecturers and senior researchers from recognized universities, research institutions, or similar organizations.
- Thematic Areas: Afreximbank seeks professionals interested in research related to intra-African trade, AfCFTA implementation, industrialization, trade finance, financial sustainability, and other relevant topics.
- Nationality: Applications open to nationals of African countries and Caribbean Community countries.
- Language: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (knowledge of French, Arabic, or Portuguese is advantageous).
