The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) is excited to announce the inaugural Africa Climate Academy 2024, a transformative educational platform designed to reshape the discourse on climate change, energy transition, and Africa’s role in a sustainable future. Scheduled to take place from October 7 to October 11, 2024, in Accra, Ghana, this one-week program targets policymakers, media professionals, civil society leaders, and academia. The Academy aims to provide new perspectives on the risks associated with oil dependence and the abundant opportunities offered by sustainable energy alternatives.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Africa Climate Academy, applicants must:
- Be an African residing in Africa.
- Hold a position as a policymaker, media professional, civil society leader, or academic with a demonstrated interest in climate change and energy-related issues.
- Have at least three years of work experience in their respective field, with a proven commitment to addressing the risks of oil dependence and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in exploring sustainable energy alternatives and their potential to reduce fossil fuel dependency across Africa.
- Be fully available to participate in the one-week program, including all sessions and activities.
- Possess a strong command of English, as the program will be conducted in English.
