The UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) is a unique initiative that supports projects aimed at fostering cultural diversity and promoting the cultural and creative industries around the world. The IFCD is particularly focused on empowering countries in the Global South to overcome inequalities and enrich the global cultural landscape.
Benefits
The UNESCO International Fund for Cultural Diversity provides funding of up to US$ 100,000 for projects implemented over a 12–24-month period. These projects are evaluated based on their relevance, feasibility, financial management capacity, expected results, and sustainability. The fund has invested more than US$ 10 million in 140 projects across 69 Member States since its inception, creating significant social and economic benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants include arts and cultural bodies, government institutions, and non-governmental organizations in the Global South. Projects should focus on cinema, performing arts, visual arts, media arts, design, music, and publishing. The IFCD promotes South-South and North-South cooperation and contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Application Process and Documents Required
Applicants must submit their project proposals through the UNESCO IFCD online platform. The application should include a detailed project description, budget, and timeline, as well as evidence of the organization’s capacity to manage the project. Additional documents may include letters of support and proof of previous successful projects.
Deadline for Application The fifteenth call for applications opens on April 15, 2024, and closes on June 14, 2024, at noon Paris time.
