WAAW Foundation Scholarship 2025 for African Female Students ($500 award)

Deadline: December 19, 2025

The WAAW Foundation Scholarship 2025 targets young African women pursuing undergraduate degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The organisation’s core mission is empowering female students across the African continent to engage in STEM education and leadership. The 2025 award offers a one-time grant of USD $500 to help support tuition, academic materials or living costs for successful candidates.
In addition to financial support, the scholarship connects awardees with mentoring, leadership development and the opportunity to join or lead a WAAW STEM Outreach Chapter at their university — promoting community service and encouraging their peers into STEM.

Benefits
  • The one-time award of $500 provides tangible financial relief for tuition, books, equipment or other university-related expenses.
  • Membership in a network of women in STEM across Africa: mentorship, peer-support, outreach experience and leadership training extend the value beyond the monetary grant.
  • Opportunity to join (or help establish) a WAAW STEM Outreach Chapter at your university, thereby building your leadership profile and social impact.
  • CV enhancement: Being selected demonstrates academic merit, community engagement and a proactive mindset — all attractive to future employers or graduate applications.
  • Incentive to complete and excel: The scholarship emphasises academic excellence, community service and leadership — rewarding those committed to making a difference.
