The WomEng GirlEng Technovation Camp 2024 is a four-day residential camp that will take place from July 8 to July 11, 2024, at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. The camp is open to 60 high school girls from grades 9 to 12 who are interested in pursuing STEM subjects and careers.
The camp aims to provide the girls with fun and interactive learning experiences that will inspire them to pursue STEM education and professions. The girls will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in hands-on workshops and projects on topics such as robotics, coding, design thinking, innovation and entrepreneurship
- Learn from female role models and mentors who are successful STEM professionals and entrepreneurs
- Visit leading STEM companies and organizations and see how they apply STEM in real-world situations
- Develop their confidence, creativity, communication and teamwork skills
- Make new friends and join a supportive and diverse community of young STEM enthusiasts
Benefits
The WomEng GirlEng Technovation Camp 2024 is a free and fully-funded camp that covers the following expenses for the girls:
- Accommodation and meals for the entire duration of the camp (four days)
- Transportation to and from the camp venue (up to R500 per girl)
- Camp materials and equipment
- Certificate of participation and a WomEng GirlEng t-shirt

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the WomEng GirlEng Technovation Camp 2024, you must:
- Be a female student in grade 9, 10, 11 or 12
- Be studying or planning to study STEM subjects at school
- Have a passion and curiosity for STEM and a desire to learn more
- Have a good academic record and a positive attitude
- Be able to attend the entire camp from July 8 to July 11, 2024
Application Procedure
To apply for the WomEng GirlEng Technovation Camp 2024, you need to:
- Fill out the online application form on the WomEng website
- Upload your latest school report and a letter of motivation (maximum 250 words) explaining why you want to attend the camp and what you hope to gain from it
- Submit your application before the deadline of May 31, 2024
