The World IP Day 2025 Youth Video Competition is an exciting global initiative designed to engage young individuals in showcasing their creativity and passion for intellectual property (IP). This competition, organized in celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, provides a platform for youth to express how IP influences innovation and impacts their lives.
The World IP Day Youth Video Competition invites young people worldwide to create a compelling short video (no longer than 90 seconds) centered on the 2025 theme for World IP Day: “Innovation and Creativity for a Better Future.” Participants are encouraged to explore how IP fosters creativity and contributes to global progress. This competition aims to amplify youth voices, inspire innovation, and promote awareness about the significance of intellectual property in shaping our world.

Eligibility Criteria
- Open to individuals aged 18 to 25 years.
- Participants can be from any country.
- Videos must align with the 2025 theme: “Innovation and Creativity for a Better Future.”
- Submissions must be in English or include English subtitles.
General Requirements
- Entries can be submitted by individuals or groups of individuals. You may enter one individual entry, or you may join with your friends and submit a group entry, but you cannot do both.
- Individual entries must be submitted by individuals aged between 18 and 35 years old at the time application is submitted.
- Group entries may include up to 10 participants, with at least one member being no older than 35 years old at the time the application is submitted.
WIPO is looking for videos that highlight how innovation, creativity, and IP rights are shaping a better future for creators, inventors and entrepreneurs worldwide. Videos may focus on one or more of the following themes:
Voices for IP: Share stories of individuals advocating for IP rights in the music world, emphasizing how IP rights empower creators, artists, and entrepreneurs to build sustainable careers in the music industry.
Video Requirements
- Your video is in MP4 format and is between 60-90 seconds long.
- Your video does not contain any subtitles or captions.
- Your video may include audio narrative in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish.
- Your video has not been published previously online, nor recognized and/or won an award in another competition.
- If your video features background music, you must supply proof of authorization to use such recordings.
- Your video must not violate any copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, industrial designs, distinctive signs, contractual obligations, or any other IP rights, or other proprietary rights of any third party.
Rhythm that inspires: Illustrate how music, creativity, and innovation can transform lives, foster connections, and inspire new possibilities.
Changemakers: Highlight how artists, musicians, tech innovators, or young entrepreneurs in local communities are leveraging creativity and innovation to shape the future of music and create a global impact.
Application Process and Documents Required
- Video Submission:
- Create a short video of up to 90 seconds.
- Ensure the content highlights the theme effectively and creatively.
- Required Documents:
- Completed online submission form.
- Video file in an accepted format (e.g., MP4).
- Proof of age (scanned ID or equivalent).
