The Yale Peace Fellowship 2026 is a prestigious, fully funded program designed for rising leaders committed to advancing peace, justice, and conflict resolution in their communities and globally. Hosted by the Yale University International Leadership Center, the fellowship offers participants the chance to engage with global experts, develop practical skills, and collaborate with a network of changemakers. Through an intensive program at Yale and continuous mentorship, fellows will strengthen their capacity to address pressing social, political, and humanitarian challenges.

This unique initiative seeks applicants from diverse professional backgrounds, including diplomacy, grassroots activism, public policy, humanitarian aid, and academia, who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential and a commitment to fostering peace.

The program provides:

    • Structured time to reflect on the nature of modern conflict
    • Training in negotiation and leadership skills
    • Opportunities to learn from peers and international experts
    • Membership of a growing network of innovative peace leaders working across sectors and regions

The Fellowship is designed to support leaders at a critical moment in their careers—offering space to learn, connect, and prepare for the challenges ahead. It is a space for thoughtful engagement with the strategic dilemmas and dimensions of peace leadership today.


Program Components
  • week-long in-person seminar at Yale University, held April 13-17, 2026
  • Interactive virtual sessions, held bi-weekly from January through May 2026
    • An international study trip to learn from peace efforts on the ground. Fellows will travel to the UAE from February 1-5, 2026, to participate in the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity’s annual ceremony and convening; engage with leading interfaith initiatives; and interact with a global network of peacebuilders and mediators.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be mid-career or emerging leaders with a proven commitment to peacebuilding, justice, or conflict resolution.
  • Have at least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a track record of impact.
  • Be proficient in English (spoken and written).
  • Be available to attend all fellowship sessions at Yale University in 2026.

Admission is highly competitive. Each cohort of fellows is geographically balanced and represents a wide range of professions, talents, experience, cultures, people, and perspectives.
