The Yiaga Africa Internship 2024 is a full-time, six-month internship program that provides opportunities for interns to work across various departments within Yiaga Africa, a non-profit civic hub of change-makers based in Abuja, Nigeria. Yiaga Africa focuses on in-depth research, critical analysis, practical solutions, and training and empowerment of citizens to lead change in their communities. Yiaga Africa implements several innovative programs to stimulate active citizenship, protect human rights, and deepen democratic governance. Yiaga Africa also invests in building networks and social movements to drive social change and transformation.
The internship program aims to provide interns with valuable learning and work experience, as well as exposure to the organization’s mission and objectives. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in various enrichment activities, such as academic support, leadership development, networking, and alumni engagement, to enhance their personal and professional growth.

Eligibility Criteria
The Yiaga Africa Internship 2024 is open to all young individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of commencing the internship.
- Be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, or have graduated within the past two years.
- Have a strong interest and passion for democracy, governance, and development issues in Africa.
- Have excellent communication, research, and analytical skills.
- Have proficiency in English and at least one other African language.
- Have basic computer and internet skills.
- Have the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Have the ability to adapt to a multicultural and dynamic work environment.
- Have the availability and commitment to work full-time for six months.
Application Procedure
To apply for the Yiaga Africa Internship 2024, applicants must follow these steps:

- Choose one position that matches your interest, skills, and qualifications.
- Fill out an online application form here and upload the following documents:
- A copy of your curriculum vitae.
- A copy of your academic transcript or certificate.
- A motivation letter stating why you are interested in the internship and what you hope to gain from it.
- A writing sample of not more than 1000 words on a relevant topic of your choice.
- Submit the online application before the deadline, which is February 5, 2024.
- Wait for the shortlisting results, which will be announced by February 15, 2024.
- If shortlisted, attend an online interview with the selection committee.
- Wait for the final selection results, which will be announced by February 28, 2024.
- If selected, accept the offer and prepare for your arrival in Abuja.
