The Ethereum Foundation Academic Grant Round 2024 is a global initiative that aims to support and foster academic research in the Ethereum ecosystem. The grant round has $1M in total available funds and is open to individual researchers, research centers, universities, think-tanks, educators and other stakeholders who are interested in conducting formal academic research on matters related to Ethereum and its ecosystem.
The grant round covers a wide range of domains, such as applied and theoretical cryptography, economics, game theory, security, consensus protocols, formal verification, p2p networking, society and regulation, and hardware. The Ethereum Foundation is looking for proposals that not only align with its wishlist, but also bring novel perspectives and approaches to the challenges and opportunities facing the Ethereum ecosystem.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Ethereum Foundation Academic Grant Round 2024, you must:
- Be an academic researcher with a formal affiliation to a recognized academic institution or organization
- Have a proven track record of conducting high-quality research in a relevant field of study
- Have a clear and well-defined research proposal that addresses one or more of the Ethereum Foundation’s wishlist items or other topics of interest to the Ethereum ecosystem
- Have a realistic and reasonable budget and timeline for the proposed research project
- Have a good command of English, as the grant round will be conducted in English
Application Procedure
To apply for the Ethereum Foundation Academic Grant Round 2024, you need to:
- Fill out the online application form on the Ethereum Foundation website
- Upload your research proposal in PDF format, following the template provided by the Ethereum Foundation
- Provide your CV, academic transcripts, publications and other relevant documents
- Submit your application before the deadline of March 5, 2024
