KAIST International Student Scholarship – South Korea

The KAIST Scholarship for International Graduate Students to study in Asia provides the following benefits to selected applicants:

1. Full tuition fee exemption;
2. Living expenses of 350,000 KRW per month (for MS) or 400,000 KRW per month (for PhD)
3. Medical Insurance;
4. Additional Stipend can be available for research assistants.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply to this university scholarship, candidates must meet all the following requirements:

• For the Master’s Degree Program, applicants hold or expect to hold a bachelor’s degree before enrollment at KAIST.
• For Doctoral Degree Program, applicants hold or expect to hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree before enrollment at KAIST
• Have a foreign citizenship

-Applicants who hold Korean Citizenship (dual citizenship) are not eligible to apply as foreign students

-International applicants MUST ADDITIONALLY satisfy one of the following two requirements: Neither of the applicant’s parents is a Korean citizen.

• English is the medium language of instruction. Therefore, applicants from non-English-speaking countries must meet the language requirements.

Note: Selected candidates must maintain a GPA over 2.0 out of 4.3 during their studies at KAIST.

Application Procedure

There is no separate application process for the KAIST scholarship. Just check “KAIST scholarship” on the Statement of Financial Resources’ section in the online application for admission (use the apply button provided below).

-Please note that the dates for Admission Announcement are subject to change.

-Submit your completed application and documents by the application deadline.

-Interview is NOT required for all applicants. Applicants will be contacted through individual email if an interview is necessary.

Application Deadline: 28^th December, 2021– Hard copies of application material with required documents (including recommendation letters) must be received by the school no later than January 5, 2022.
